Can i start cheerleading at 15

I m fourteen going to fifteen in december. Is it too late for me to try and be a cheerleader by Spring tryout time. A lot of people on the highschool team have been doing cheer since like elementry school. Please help! I have been looking for answers everywhere! I would work really hard to make the team! I am now 14 but I started cheerleading about 10 months ago when I was 13 and I felt exactly like you!

I had no previous cheer, dance or gymnastics experience so I thought that I was hopeless but then I just pushed myself and I made the team! It all depends on what you can already do I could do forwards and backwards rolls, a handstand, cartwheel and round off before I tried out but if you don't have some of these skills or any then you are just going to have to push yourself every day. Flexibility is also a good thing to have so stretch your splits and bridge every night and in a week you will notice a difference!

If you stretch about hours a week you will probably have your splits in a month. It is never too late as long as you have spirit, a strong will, and determination you can do anything. Really work on your flexibility and tumbling. You are going to need your splits because it sounds like this is competitive cheer then basic tumbling at least.

Just attend some games or research the cheer squad you are interested in to see if it would be a good fit for you. There may even be cheerleading opportunities for you after college! It is absolutely never too late to become a cheerleader!
