Immortals why is it rated r
It has 2 parts with nudity. Definitely not for children do not take them. Parents you need to realize that you are the role models and teach them right from wrong. Every generation is becoming worse with no morals or no care in the world. Adult Written by friedch1cken June 9, Very bloody!!
There is one sexual scene. Adult Written by christian May 17, Good movie. Violence and sexual content can be an issue. Immortals is very similar to the movie , and this movie deals with the war between the gods and the titans. It contains scenes of strong, stylized bloody violence including graphic decapitations and stabbings. There's one scene where a man and a woman have sex in bed. Adult Written by Dr3w November 29, Beautiful Violence???? Immortals is a silly, very graphic film trying to mimic 's success.
The problem is that, while had a decent script to go along with its brilliant visuals, Immortals relies solely on its visuals to entertain. There is not much resembling a plot here. Basically, you've got good guys and bad guys and the two are going to fight. That's the plot. Women are basically here for the sole purpose of having their virginity taken from them. This film is insidiously violent and includes several scenes with female breast nudity including a sexual scene. While it was rated R for sequences of strong bloody violence, and a scene of sexuality in the States, the UK make an exception when it comes to censorship.
Although a BBFC 18 was available for the uncut version, distributor Universal UK decided that this wouldn't be profitable enough for the British market. Therefore, they decided to cut the film down to a BBFC 15 rating. Unfortunately and a not so rare occasion by the way , the DVD and Blu-ray contain this censored cut, as well. Different methods were used to tone down the violence.
Along with normal cuts, there is one scene where the volume of a gory effect has been reduced and numerous alterations of the blood's colour black instead of red. It's notable that this mostly affects scenes with fantasy creatures and not humans. Throughout the movie, mentors and gods inspire him to fight evil and stand up to do the right thing, no matter the cost to himself. This positive content, however, is marred by a gratuitous level of excessive R-rated violence and some sexual elements and brief nudity in one scene.
Despite this polytheistic, non-Christian setting, it abounds with many strongly verbalized and then practiced moral lessons, such as taking on moral responsibility for the protection of your family and people, and of finding courage to do what is right even at the risk of death. The movie has very strong, excessive fighting violence, however, plus implied sex and brief nudity in one scene.
The movie then follows Theseus and Hyperion as they compete to find a magical bow and arrow that can help whoever possesses it win any battle. Theseus forms a ragtag band of fellow prisoners as he escapes captivity and takes a female oracle under his care for protection from the evil forces. Together with a beautiful oracle Freida Pinto and a thief Stephen Dorff , Theseus must find a way to stop Hyperion before it's too late.
No matter how impressive the visuals, no matter how bloody or brutal the fighting, they're always stuck with flat dialogue, wooden acting, stiff characters, and stories with no point. The focus here is certainly on the extreme gore; the oversize, computer-generated sets; and the bizarre costumes as well as Cavill's chiseled chest , but without a reason for any of this stuff, what's the point?
Even as the explosive violence ramps up as the movie goes along, the boredom only grows greater. Some viewers might argue for a bit of "camp" value in all this, but many others won't want to bother.
Families can talk about the movie's extreme violence. How does it compare to what you've seen in other action movies? In horror movies? What kind of movie violence has the most impact? Do you think the filmmakers intended audiences to get a particular message from watching this movie? If so, what would it be? If you were born into a society like this, where fighting is the solution to every problem, what would you do?
