Wow silk where to find
Don't forget to clear the mobs outside the cave too! There are a lot of mobs up on the cliff to the right from the cave entrance. The respawn rate is not that fast, so if you have a class with high mobility, you might clear the mobs too fast and you have to wait for respawns.
Blackhoof Village in Dustwallow Marsh is also a decent place. The mobs drop Silk Cloth and they respawn pretty quickly, you can keep running from one end of the camp to the other and farm Silk Cloth. Elder Scrolls. Final Fantasy. Dragon Age. Fire Emblem. Legend of Zelda.
First-Person Shooters. Gaming PCs. Strategy Games. Technical How-Tos. Horror Games. Just find what works for you. Comment by Allakhazam Those npcs drop silk cloth like it's no tomorrow. Problem is the mobs are level Hope this helps. Comment by Allakhazam I would have to say that would be one of the best places, because after you kill Herod and all those little "trainee" mobs come running in, they're easily killed with AoE spells, and they almost all drop silk.
Comment by Allakhazam Where to get a lot of silk clothes on low lvl - around 25? I'm horde. Comment by Allakhazam what's a good deal i can get for a stack of silk? Comment by Allakhazam Great place to farm this is Scarlet monestary Graveyard, in 1 run i got over 5 stacks of this, the other parts of SM drop a fair bit too.
Comment by Allakhazam hello people where can i buy silk cloth for as people say 6 s a piece. Comment by Allakhazam What are you guys talking about? SM try decolace just as high drop rate and NON-elites! Comment by Allakhazam Yeah I followed the recommendations here and I got silk cloth about every 30 minutes or so. Comment by Allakhazam one time i found silk cloth on a humanoid!
Comment by Allakhazam wheres the best drop rate at for the alliance. Comment by Allakhazam Where is the best place to grind these as a 60 mage? Need alot of stacks. Comment by Rostkebab Doesn't seem to be reliably dropped by anything.
And from what I've seen since 4. Unless you do what other folks have suggested and take a snow plow through SM. Comment by gtadem With the shattering, all cloth drops were rebalanced. This means that cloth that used to be so plentiful, vendoring was a valid option linen and silk for example and once again valuable while cloth that came at a premium before wool are more reasonably priced. Silk will be used in large amounts by anybody level first aid and especially tailoring.
With heirlooms and RAF benefits, most people doing either will find themselves using more cloth than they'll get, especially if they're leveling via BGs or dungeons. Anybody with a stockpile of any cloth they do not need are best suited auctioning them off a few stacks at a time so as to not flood the market. Comment by tolman Better is runnig out of cathedral after u kill Mograine and wait till Whitemane ress him, coz after they come out to you much more mobs will come.
Then AOE them down. I did it 4 times before i wasnt able to enter SM again. Comment by Felwood is also a nice farm place at south of Felwood. In 20min i geth 6stacks of it. I ended Cathedral with 52 Silk Cloth 3 Mageweave. I find Cathedral to be the best, BUT since you can get locked out, I'd just run all three, reset, then do it again.
I did this as a lvl 85 Frost Mage. After these three I ended with Silk Cloth cause I also killed the trash outside of the instance.
Comment by somnomania Just ran all of SM on my 85 hunter, to round up more silk for my lower level tailor. With all four wings, cleared completely, and a few of the mobs just outside the instances, the totals were: silk cloth, 26 wool cloth, 10 mageweave cloth, 22 BoE greens, 16 BoP blues, 2 recipes both for tailoring, fortunately , and a slot bag.
I have no idea how long it took me, since I stopped in the middle to make dinner, but I would guess about minutes. Definitely the best place to get silk cloth in Cata. Comment by Xhukari I was doing my Archaeology in Feralas I discovered an amazing farm for Silk Cloth! Highborne Poltergeist! They drop multiples of Silk Cloth same as Scarlet Monastery , but have hp, and aren't elite!
They die extremely quick; as wheat to the scythe. I've only been killing these for roughly 5 mins or so after discovering the quantity and frequency of the drop and grabbed a stack already.
This is a place you might wanna try for yourselves. Comment by sharisi I just ran SM and I must agree with those who have believe it is the best. Though I have not confirmed the other farming plans I just ran SM again for silk. In less than 30 minutes I ran the Armory 3 times and Cath 2. I have a total of silk. If you are 85 or perhaps 80 I suggest grabbing everyone in the armory and killing them all as soon as you pull Herod. Try to move around a little so you don't have a giant mass of shimmering bodies : Do the same with Cath but ignore the beginning mobs that are fighting.
Happy farming! I ran this with a guildie who was needing about 1k Silk for her tailoring and we had more than enough in about an hour and a half. I would walk through killing everything and she would be right behind me looting. At one point she had to transfer all of the silk to me because she ran out of bag room because of the greens she was getting while she was at it.
Hardly a start for getting trough the demands of a tailoring skill. I'll try Andorhal in the Western Plaguelands next as suggested by Scottcom. Comment by Scarlet Cathedral is definitely the best place to get a quick five runs in. You can simply go up one side killing everyone in the courtyard up to the cathedral door. Then just run inside the cathedral and hit the boss once; every single mob in the cathedral will run to him. One aoe and run finished.
Then, on your way out, you can get the guards down the opposite side you came up. Most adds drop silk cloth and you get about 25 or more per run. Stand between the barn door and the field to your right, your safe here keeping in mind the far and few between occasional NPC coming frome the field. Though not all will drop the cloth, most do. There is a NPC that walks from the buildings towards the field and disapears after a few seconds. I don't know for sure but killing it seemed to reset the drop rate of the silk cloth.
The repop rate of the NPCs is 15 to 20 seconds and will drop silk cloth. Target shooting does not draw the NPCs that are close by. I much prefer Andorhal in Western Plaguelands. The spawn rate is amazingly fast as well! Comment by 1magellan Just found a great little island full of lvl 35 murlocks that drop silk like no tomorrow, often 2 or 3 at a time!
Kalimdor, Northern Barrens, Dreadmurk Shore, coord: 59, 9. The next island over 63, 7 drops at a lower rate but useful to do while larger island respawns. Be careful, though. The tunnels can be a maze! Comment by rcitaliano Ok, all the other green comments of this items are usefull. But resuming for patch 4. Comment by stickmansamuri Actually, the easiest method by far is to got to the Uldaman Mines. Outside, near the entrance to the mines, there are a number of Shadowforge Dwarves.
Kill all of them, and don't get discouraged if the first few don't drop. On average, every of them will drop anywhere from Silk Cloth. After killing all of those Outside, head inside the mines and totally decimate everything in there, even the troggs. Don't go into the instances though, unless you really want to. After completely clearing the whole mine, head back outside. All of those miner's should have respawned by now.
Kill all of them again. Unfortunately, the respawn time seems to be rather long, so its easier to just heartstone to either Ironforge or Stormwind. Make your profit, then go back for another run :P I don't know about you guys, but on my server a stack of Silk Cloth runs around 35 gold in the AH, and 20 bolts of Silk run Enjoy xD. I have been farming the Sprite Darter Hatchling and I've gotten about 10 stacks every couple of rounds the area and the mobs have a virtually instant spawn rate.
Comment by cesp00l I was having problems using SM to farm due to the fact that they like to interrupt casts. So I took my 85 warlock out to the edge of Feralas to farm Grimtotem Marauders.
In exactly 30 minutes, I got silk, 17 mageweave, 3 greens and a blue. I don't know how fast SM is but 19 stacks an hour seems pretty good to me. This spot is nice for several reasons. They are clumped together They are attacking allies, so they wont attack you They respawn really fast They rarely drop grey items, so your bags don't fill up Just remember to put your pet on passive!
Still, with the short respawn rate and the sheer amount of them, duskwallow is an excellent place to farm silk cloth. Comment by As a Lvl 85 Mage skilling Tailoring I went to SM Cathedral to give it a try but was utterly disappointed because of several reasons: The droprate and quantity was crappy - At least to my standards.
The MOB's won't chase you forever - A new thing for me. It takes forever to loot all the MOB's once they have all died - I guess I prefer a more stead kill and loot system. Getting out of the Instance, resetting and getting back to the Bosses takes time too - Well I guess I'm lazy as that. So I've been taking Bergelmir's advice and took my chance on the Grimtotem Breaker , Grimtotem Spirit-Shifter and Grimtotem Elder at Blackhoof Village which was a blessing as they die by even just looking at them, respawn fast, drop Silk often and a lot sometimes 2x pieces.
It took me about 45minutes to clear, thanks to all the Monks that interupt spellcasting. For everyone wishing to farm Silk, Uldaman isn't much better. The Dwarfs rarely drop silk, the Troggs however are great this is just outside the instance. Their respawn rate is really low however. I suggest waiting till you are at least LV70 so you can clear the instances in less then 15 minutes assuming you have a good AOE.
Tank classes can do this earlier. It will just save you so much time. Comment by Takata Uldaman is a great place to farm silk. You'll also get some mageweave as well. Even just outside the instance in the dig site you'll get about 70 silk. Easy kills for my 85 warrior. I don't think cloth wearers should have any problems taking out the troggs or dwarves either.
Comment by struglsnuglz At my current level I was having a really hard time farming silk in Scarlet Monastary. When I ran through it using dungeon finder, other players were looting faster than I could. I then remembered a great place to do farming.. In the northern part of Dustwallow Marsh is a place called "Blackhoof Village. Not all of them drop silk, but I would say more than half do. When they do drop, it's usually in excess of 2 to 3.
I would estimate that in 15 minutes I didn't time it exactly I had 4. The respawn rate of these Grimtoten tauren is very quick, so by the time you reach the edge of the settlement, you can go back to the entrance and clear it out again. In some cases, they were respawning so quickly that they were spawning on top of the previous spawn's corpse.
Forget about Scarlet Monastary, this is the way to go! Some of these creatures even drop the odd piece of mageweave. Catch a teleport from a mage, or if you're a mage, teleport to Theramore Isle, then follow the path northwest until you start seeing totem poles. Happy farming. Comment by annebradsmith I tried the Blackfoot Village route in Dustwallow Marsh as suggested here by struglsnuglz.
Not bad. Nice drop rate and quick respawns. Definitely a good place for farming, especially around bosses when they call in mobs with low HP and you can AoE them. As said previously, place 1 piece of Silk Cloth on each bag slot, so you don't have to stop and clear all the greys out of your bag all the time. Comment by strawburry12 Uldaman, Uldaman.. I got 4. Try getting that much in 1 run of SM. Yes, even in the Dungeon. You can totally just facepull Uldaman, without ever worrying of any reset!
Comment by TiberX SM Cath, ignore all the mobs untill the big boss, if you attack him everyone within the cathedral will agro you.
This way is faster then killing all the mobs because they deagro if you run to far away. Comment by I needed to do some silk farming to lvl up my tailoring and first aid. Looking here, there seemed to be a tossup between Feralas and SM Cath. I started out in Feralas because I was already pretty close to there. I swear, it was like it was falling out the sky. The first 10 minutes, I swore that the rate had been nerfed because I wasn't getting anything other than silver, which isn't bad at all.
Then, it started dropping like mad. The biggest bonus was that I didn't fill up my bags with grey trash. I hung around for three hours last night. My final haul was: 17 Stacks of Silk. I haven't gone to SM Cath yet, but I don't see much of a reason to. The mobs around New Thalanaar respawn very quickly, they are in a constant fight with friendlies, so even those who are at lvl with them in good gear can use this spot as well, the drop rate is phenominal, and you don't fill up quickly on trash, so you aren't constantly leaving to get rid of stuff.
Also, in my 3 hours there, I never saw another person there. Even if there was one, the respawn rate is so quick that it wouldn't matter. Money wise, it wasn't too bad. On average, I think with each circuit killing all mobs once , I averged between s, so I think I netted a few gold easily, but I wasn't keeping good track of what I was earning money wise. Happy Farming. Comment by Kabonius I was leveling tailoring and ran into the usual problem of not enough silk cloth on the AH, so I set out to farm some.
Using an 81 mage, my drop rate worked out to about 10 stacks of silk cloth over 1 hour. I did have times when very few mobs were up so I lost some time looking for respawns. It proved much superior -- not only did the mobs respawn FAST but there are at least double the number of mobs, meaning I never ran out of targets. Additionally they seemed to drop more cloth This spot was trivially easy. Comment by I decided to try out five different places that were listed on here and other sites to farm silk.
Here's what I personally got from each. Blackhoof Village is very tiny -- takes maybe 30 seconds to walk through end to end, but the respawn rate on mobs is insanely fast seconds usually, sometimes faster.
For reference, one loop around the village took me about 3 minutes, killing and looting included. I constantly saw them spawning right in front of me, and sometimes my cooldowns couldn't even keep up. However, they're lowish level mobs 32 I think and not very aggressive, so it's a really easy area to farm.
Even if you don't stay very long, you'll leave with a ton of mats.
